Tuition programmes to ensure your child is ready for the entrance exams

The exams might be quite far away but one thing’s for sure, you’ll be desperate for them to do as well as they can.

The 11+ will have a big say in deciding which school your child will go to. It’s going to have a big impact on the kind of education they get going forward. Understandably, you want to ensure that the education they receive is first class. Therefore, the 11+ is probably going to be near the top of your agenda.

Since 2007, the team at Kip McGrath Nottingham South have successfully prepared hundreds of students for their 11+ and private school entrance exams. We have a proven track record in coaching pupils to 11+ success and we’re proud to say that we’ve helped many children to succeed in being offered a place.

We can help your child succeed with:

  • English

  • Maths

  • Verbal Reasoning

  • Non-Verbal Reasoning

  • Exam Technique

  • And much, much more…

Help your child make it through their entrance exams with our expert tutoring. Our caring and fully-qualified tutors are specialists at preparing students with the skills they need.

Here’s how it works

We’d like to help your child get a place in the school of your choice. First, you need to know whether they’re on track for success already. If that’s the case, then everyone’s happy! To work out whether children need our help, we offer a completely FREE assessment for your child.

We believe that the initial assessment is a crucial part of the process as it helps everyone to know where they stand. We’ll provide you with honest feedback about your child’s natural ability and how it compares to the high standards and expectations set by the selective exams.

We give your child enough skills, practice, and guidance to pass on their own merit, ensuring that they will cope confidently in Secondary School.

In the assessment, we evaluate where they’re at with their Maths, English, Verbal, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Afterwards, we’ll be able to tell you where they are at in terms of getting  entrance exam results that you want.

After the assessment

If your child is on track, we’ll say so. If they’re not, then we can help. Following on from the assessment, we will be able to suggest an appropriate plan in order to deliver the skills and understanding your child will need to succeed in the entrance exams.

How the tuition works

The assessment will give us the chance to understand what, if anything your child requires help with. This allows us to tailor the tuition accordingly to make certain that they’re getting in-depth help and support in the areas they need assistance with. Your child will be taught individually to receive the focus they need to reach the required standard.

Depending on the time scale, we’ll work out what needs covering and when. Everything we plan is designed to give your child the best chance of succeeding in these exams.

  • We have been using KIP McGrath for 3-4 years now for my daughter (now aged 13) and my son (now aged 10). We had tried a number of organisations for Maths and English tuition in the local area but the children had never taken to them but they love going here. The learning system that is used which is mainly computer based is great and the kids really engage with it. My son is doing great at school and often says that one of the reasons he is excelling in Maths is because of KiP. There is no ceiling on the learning so my son is learning maths above his curriculum year which means that he can go into greater depth with his learning at school. My daughter has some learning difficulties but KIP has helped pull her maths up from almost 2 years behind! She is now in the middle set in her year group at school. Sam and James are very communicative and nothing is ever a problem. I like the fact that here the kids get taught by qualified teachers which is not what you get in other organisations. All of the teachers that the kids have ever had have been excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

  • We had a great experience with Kip. They really helped improve my daughter's confidence in Maths. Sam and James, who are dedicated to what they do, provided a supportive and caring environment in which she could excel. As a result, she did really well in her GCSEs. I would definitely recommend Kip McGraph!
