Free Assessment
Are you concerned about your child’s progress at school? Do you want to boost their confidence and allow them to flourish and succeed in their learning?
We can give you the information you need to know so you can understand where your child is at right now.
We offer detailed assessments free of charge for ages 5-18, plus adults who may be pursuing new qualifications.
Primary students
We will undertake an assessment that puts your child at ease and provides you with the following:
Their reading age
Their verbal comprehension age
A written comprehension analysis
Their spelling age
An analysis of their ability to write creatively
Detailed Maths analysis by year level and topic
Secondary Students
We assess Maths by year level and topic up to your child’s expected level. This will be determined by their school age and if appropriate up to GCSE and A-Level. For exam headed students, we assess GCSE exam grade topics.
In English, we may check spelling for Key stage 3 students, plus relevant key stage 3 or 4 comprehension, essay writing and persuasive argument analysis.
What happens after the assessment?
We will mark your child’s assessment there and then and relay the feedback to you at that point.
Your child can sit in on the feedback if it’s appropriate to do so. Alternatively, they will be looked after a member of staff and given fun activities to do. These could be computer based or written based to give them a taste of our teaching environment.
You may, at that point press ahead and confirm a booking and plan for lessons. Equally you may wish to take advantage of a trial lesson so your child can experience our teaching environment and we can show you what we achieved in their lesson. We want to ensure that your child is happy; most students can’t wait to return and advance their progress. Kids love learning new topics and having their weaknesses addressed. At this stage, we can agree a plan with you to take your child forward.
Enrolment
Upon enrolment, students will be given targets and we will agree an individual plan of work. They will issued with a notebook and homework folder. At the end of each lesson, we will issue written homework. This is a mixture of topic consolidation or more diagnostic work.
Online homework
Your child is entitled to free online homework. We issue them with a username and password. We then load ability/age appropriate work based on their lessons and objectives. The online work remains live for 6 days.
